Prepping For The National Runners-Up: Grand Vally State University As CMU gets ready to take on one of the most ready teams in ACHA college hockey, the broadcasters and our teams do the very same. I have already spent countless hours prepping with rosters, writing down stats, and game film/strategies. But the other part of prep comes in a very different form, one that not many people realize. As Vice-President of an independent broadcasting group, CCHN is required to contact/meet with the owners of every team and rink we play against and at. This is because we must obtain the broadcasting rights to film and broadcast at the arena. Both the team and rink must agree to this, and then and only then can we begin double checking our equipment for functionality and readiness. Once all this is done, then we can finally get ready for the trip to the opposing rink, where we get there sometimes up to five hours in advance to set up all our equipment.
